Access to quality services doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because people pay attention, speak up, and take action.

So much is happening right now across our field, and our clients need us paying attention. For years, many of us have been sounding the alarm about systems that resist change, funding structures that fail to keep pace with need, bad actors who undermine trust, and the growing influence of private equity in spaces serving some of our most vulnerable populations. Now layer on broader national conversations about Medicaid spending, fraud investigations, reimbursement rates, provider networks, and healthcare cost containment.

What are we seeing?

  • Medicaid ABA cuts and rate reductions

  • Provider contract terminations and network restrictions

  • Increased audits and fraud investigations

  • Growing concerns about access to care

  • Families facing uncertainty about services

  • Ethical providers being asked to do more with less

Is any of this entirely new?

Not really. Advocacy and activism have always been part of this work. But the scale of what is happening right now feels different. And if we want ethical, medically necessary, evidence-based services to remain available for the people who need them most, it is going to take more than a handful of advocates carrying the load.

It's going to take an army.

Whether you are a provider, parent, self-advocate, educator, policymaker, student, or ally:

Pay attention.

Ask questions.

Get involved.

Support ethical providers.

Support families.

Speak up before decisions are made for us.

The future of services won't be determined by the people paying attention after the damage is done.

It will be determined by the people paying attention NOW.
