The {S.A.F.E.-T.] Assessment is a practical tool designed to help families, educators, and providers identify safety risks and support needs for children and adults with disabilities. From wandering to water safety to emergency planning, it covers real-life concerns and helps guide proactive conversations and next steps, because being prepared shouldn’t be overwhelming.

After the tragic loss of Feda and Mu Almaliti, and in their honor, this S.A.F.E.-T. Assessment was created to help families and providers think through common (and not-so-common) safety concerns when supporting kids or adults with disabilities. It’s meant to spark conversations, highlight potential risks, and guide next steps so everyone can feel a little more prepared and a lot more supported.

This tool includes considerations for Wandering and Public Spaces; Strangers, Social Media, and Internet Safety; Natural Emergency Preparedness; Gun and Weapon Safety (this is not an exhaustive list).
